Graduate Fellowships

Graduate students are vital to the success of the research, education and service enterprise at UC San Diego, and to the success and career aspirations of individual students. As state and federal government funding decreases, private support for graduate students is becoming increasingly important to the strength of the institution. Equally important, the campus is competing with peer institutions such as Stanford, MIT and others that are able to attract top graduate candidates with more generous fellowship packages than UC San Diego can currently offer.

To continue the campus’s transformative impact as one of the top research universities in the nation, it is urgent that we grow the population of graduate students at UC San Diego.
