Ways to Give

Annual gifts to UC San Diego from alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends play an important role in keeping our university in the forefront of academic and research excellence. Even modest contributions, pooled with gifts from others, can achieve big results—and begin a lifetime of philanthropy with impact. It's as easy as 1-2-3:

Step 1: Choose Your Area of Impact

  • Support the university's funds for greatest needs by providing unrestricted gifts.
  • Increase financial aid to undergraduate students through scholarships.
  • Support your student's college directly through the Parents Fund.
  • Give to the academic unit, school or college of your choice.

Step 2: Designate Your Amount

  • You can make a difference with a gift of any amount, whether it's $50, $500, $5,000 or $5 million.

Step 3: Choose Your Philanthropic Tools

  • Outright gift of cash: check, credit card, electronic funds transfer (EFT) or payroll deduction if you're a UCSD employee
  • Pledge (a gift paid over a three- to five-year period)
  • Matching gifts through your employer

When you're ready to make your gift, you can utilize our secure online giving website or you can also make your gift by phone or mail.
