School International Relations and Pacific Studies

In the 21st Century, no region of the world will experience the impact of globalization more profoundly than the Pacific, which we define as Asia and the Americas. To prepare professionals for positions of leadership in this complex, global context, UC San Diego founded the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies (IR/PS), recently ranked in the top 10 among the nation's best schools for studying foreign affairs. The only graduate school of international relations in the UC system and the only institution in the United States focusing on the Pacific region, the school has already had a profound impact on regional affairs by conducting cutting-edge research, training leaders in management and public policy, and strengthening networks between countries.
