The Triton Track and Field Scoreboard

Triton Stadium, nestled in the north part of the UC San Diego campus, is home to a state-of-the-art track with a throwing facility that is regarded as one of the top facilities on the West Coast. Yet, the stadium has yet to undergo any major renovations or upgrades since its completion more than 20 years ago. The most pressing need is an electronic scoreboard.

Without an electronic scoreboard, race results cannot be viewed immediately during meets—of key importance to track and field athletes and spectators. A new electronic scoreboard will increase UC San Diego’s chances of hosting major events, such as NCAA championships.

The new scoreboard is part of a memorial for former UC San Diego track and field student-athletes Shannon Quigley Runningbear ’91 and Leon T. Roach. Help us elevate Triton Stadium to the ranks of the great track and field facilities in the nation. To view a drawing of the proposed scoreboard, click here.

To help us reach our goal, please click here to make a secure online gift. To honor our generous supporters, a new wall of recognition for donors of $1,000 or more will be placed outside the tunnel on the south side of the Triton Track and Field Stadium. Once you have made your donation, you will be contacted for name preference on the donor tile for the Wall of Recognition. For information on matching opportunities, please call (858) 534-3540.
