Ways to Give

Gifts to UC San Diego from alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends play an important role in keeping our university in the forefront of academic and research excellence. Even modest contributions, pooled with gifts from others, can achieve big results—and begin a lifetime of philanthropy with impact. It's as easy as 1-2-3:

Step 1: Choose Your Area of Impact

Step 2: Designate Your Amount

  • You can make a difference with a gift of any amount, whether it's $50, $500, $5,000 or $5 million.

Step 3: Choose Your Philanthropic Tools

  • Outright gift of cash (check, credit card, electronic funds transfer (EFT), or if you are a UCSD employee, payroll deduction)
  • Appreciated securities and mutual funds
  • Pledge (a gift paid over a three- to five-year period)
  • Matching gifts through your employer
  • Planned gifts such as bequests through a will or charitable trusts. Please visit the Office of Planned Giving website for more information.
