Giving unrestricted gifts helps to promote and finance improvements in university quality.  These flexible funds provide a pool of dollars to rapidly advance new initiatives and innovative programs that will continue UCSD’s contributions to our community, and the world.

Funding the university’s greatest needs by private gifts augments UCSD’s government-funded core budget.  Depending on the direction of the gift, these funds can be used at the discretion of the chancellor, various deans or academic staff.  You may designate your gift for campus-wide use or to specific divisions or departments, to be used for research, faculty, resources, facilities, scholarships and other critical, immediate needs.
