A key reason for UCSD’s growing academic distinction is the university’s ability to attract and enroll the best graduate students from around the world, regardless of their ability to pay.
The cost of graduate student fees for California residents has increased by 76% since 2002, yet graduate students live on an average income of only $23,000 a year. Receiving a fellowship – a graduate-level scholarship – can make a huge difference in a graduate career. Freed from the constraints of holding outside jobs, top students can afford to explore topics and interests that others can only wonder about.
Your dollars are critically needed to keep UCSD competitive by supporting these gifted graduate students. Donors have the option of directing their graduate fellowship gifts as current-use funds to provide the university more flexibility, or as an endowment that exists in perpetuity to provide funding over the long term. Graduate fellowships can be designated to a specific academic division or department.
You can ensure that UCSD continues to attract promising students and future innovators through your gifts to graduate fellowships. To learn more, contact the UCSD Office of Development at (858) 534-1610 or email campaign@ucsd.edu. |
