Welcome to the application for Crowdsurf, UC San Diego’s crowdfunding platform for student and campus projects.
Are you doing compelling work that requires funding? We’re looking for exciting projects that highlight UC San Diego’s outstanding students and programs, while demonstrating the impact of Triton spirit.
We want you to be successful! And successful crowdfunding campaigns don’t just happen – they require a clear goal, a committed project team, and a community to promote their project.
Each project needs a lead champion and a team of project members who help promote their fundraiser through personal calls and emails to their networks, prepare personal thank you messages to donors, and submit regular updates on the status of the project. Student-led projects require a faculty or staff advisor.
Most importantly, the size of the team should be proportionate to the goal. Crowdfunding projects typically raise between $2,000 and $10,000. In order to reach a larger campaign goal, the number of team members needs to increase to scale. With each additional team member, the potential for outreach and visibility increases, allowing for maximal fundraising potential.

The Annual Giving team will provide training and guidance for advisors, as well as strategy sessions with project champions to develop a specific strategy and unique plan for each project.
